What are LEGO Minifigures?

A LEGO Minifigure or LEGO Minifig is a plastic toy representing a character in one of the LEGO theme worlds. They were first produced in 1978 by the Danish LEGO Company. Since then, they have become increasingly popular as children's toys, with some LEGO Minifigures becoming valuable collectibles and investments. The toy has become so popular that, according to National Geographic Kids, there are around 4 billion Minifigures in the world, and every year, LEGO produces around 340 million more.
